A budget pressure washer won’t really cut it when it comes to cleaning on a commercial basis. Business pressure washers need to be able to complete jobs as fast as humanly possible. Time is money and the quicker you can get the job done the sooner you can get the next job lined up.
If you’ve got work lined up then a top of the range unit will help you recoup your investment much quicker.
I’d sooner spend £600 to £1000 on a decent unit and get the money back by doing a handful of jobs than spend £60 on something that will take 10 times longer and cost you more money in the long run.
Best Commercial Hot Water Pressure Washer:
The thing with this business pressure washer is that it stands up to a lot of hard abuse. The hot water feature makes light work of a number of duties.
Lavor NPX4 1310M Hot Water Pressure Washer Steam Cleaner
- Fast
- Hard-working
- Super reliable
- Brilliant customer feedback
With a background in commercial gardening, I started out with budget machines and they soon broke down. 8 years later I had purchased top of the range “everything”, and those machines would go all day long.
It’s just the same in any business. I promise you that the expense is well worth it in the amount of work you can take on and get done faster and with less breakdowns.
So, what I have done is looked at whats out there at the minute and narrowed down the best ones that can be used for business purposes.
Please read my professional pressure washer reviews and decide for yourself.
Specifically, I am looking for ones which are:
- Top rated
- Solid work horses
- Provide lots of power
- Available in a range of prices
How do you choose a commercial pressure washer?
So, water flowing out is measuring in Psi, or pounds per square inch.
The faster and more forceful it flows out, the stronger it’s blast is, and the quicker things can get cleaned.
Most petrol powered pressure washers are more powerful than their electric counterparts.
A typical home pressure washer would deliver around 1200 to 1500 Psi, whereas a pressure washer for business use would be closer to 3000+ psi. In essence it will be at least twice as quick with the better units being almost 3 times as quick.
So getting the work done twice as fast is a must, as long as it’s a good machine and won’t let you down.
So below are the ones we feel are the best pressure washers for commercial users.
1: Wassper petrol powered 207 bar pressure washer
This commercial pressure washer can be used anywhere, even in remote locations.
- It punches out 3000 Psi

- Strong metal construction
- Comes with a variety of nozzles
- It is already top rated by other people who have bought it and scored it an impressive 4.9 out of 5 at the time of writing.

3: Wilks-USA TX850 Petrol Pressure Washer – 15HP 4800psi / 331Bar

Questions:
Do I really need to fork out up to a grand on a pressure washer?
That’s up to you. But from experience as someone who has in the past purchased machinery for a gardening round, cheaper models don’t last that long whereas the “best” stuff literally will last you several years of regular daily use.
Sure you might spend £500 to £1000, but how many jobs would it take to complete to recoup the money you’ve put in?
4 or 5 good cleaning jobs will have gotten your investment back in as little as a week depending on how busy you are.
Run a small advert on Facebook with good targeting and you can get those jobs coming in fast.
If you are after a top end pressure washer for your company for an employee to use, the investment is going to be repaid soon as well, as cleaning tasks will be completed faster, freeing them up for other tasks much sooner.
How much can you make with a pressure washing business?
Pressure washing is most certainly a business that can make you as much money as you’d like.
The simplest way in is to get a pressure washer that you can afford, advertise in the Facebook “buy and sell” groups, or drop some leaflets in your local area. Start doing the work and ask them for a review on your Facebook page.
You will get trickles of work right through the year like this, but with time and continued good reviews business will grow.
Eventually you should be able to have one person or yourself doing 1 or 2 washer jobs a day, and if you average £150 per job, this will be a £300 turnover. Take out the employees wages or your own and what’s left can go towards further advertising or profits or more wages.
As you grow, as an example with 6 employees turning over a minimum of £1000 a week each, this is a £6000 turnover, minus approx for £4000 for wages and other overheads, leaving a handsome £2000 a week profit which is over £100,000 a year.
With commercial cleaning, graffiti removal and other avenues you can charge higher rates for more specialized work.
In short the world is your oyster.
