A budget pressure washer won’t really cut it when it comes to cleaning on a commercial basis. Business pressure washers need to be able to complete jobs as fast as humanly possible. Time is money and the quicker you can get the job done the sooner you can get the next job lined up.
If you’ve got work lined up then a top of the range unit will help you recoup your investment much quicker.
I’d sooner spend £600 to £1000 on a decent unit and get the money back by doing a handful of jobs than spend £60 on something that will take 10 times longer and cost you more money in the long run.
With a background in commercial gardening, I started out with budget machines and they soon broke down. 8 years later I had purchased top of the range “everything”, and those machines would go all day long.
It’s just the same in any business. I promise you that the expense is well worth it in the amount of work you can take on and get done faster and with less breakdowns.
So, what I have done is looked at whats out there at the minute and narrowed down the best ones that can be used for business purposes.
Please read my professional pressure washer reviews and decide for yourself.
Specifically, I am looking for ones which are:
- Top rated
- Solid work horses
- Provide lots of power
- Available in a range of prices
How do you choose a commercial pressure washer?
So, water flowing out is measuring in Psi, or pounds per square inch.
The faster and more forceful it flows out, the stronger it’s blast is, and the quicker things can get cleaned.
Most petrol powered pressure washers are more powerful than their electric counterparts.
A typical home pressure washer would deliver around 1200 to 1500 Psi, whereas a pressure washer for business use would be closer to 3000+ psi. In essence it will be at least twice as quick with the better units being almost 3 times as quick.
So getting the work done twice as fast is a must, as long as it’s a good machine and won’t let you down.
So below are the ones we feel are the best pressure washers for commercial users.
This commercial pressure washer can be used anywhere, even in remote locations.
- It punches out 3000 Psi
- It’s got a 7.5 metre hose.
- Strong metal construction
- Comes with a variety of nozzles
- It is already top rated by other people who have bought it and scored it an impressive 4.9 out of 5 at the time of writing.
What a beast! Pumping out almost 4000 PSi and the cost of this is almost identical to the Wassper above, so more power and no more money!! Not only that but it also gives you almost 30 metres of hosepipe!
Already our favourite and no extra cost compared to others in this list.
Superb value for money. Let’s look at the TX750 and see what it’s got included
- Petrol powered
- 8 Horse power
- 3950 Psi !
- Low fuel consumption
- A HUGE 30 metres of hose!
- straight lance, curved gutter lance, nozzles, turbo nozzle and self propelled drain cleaner
- Wide range of nozzles for blasting, stripping, caning, washing and detergent
A big fat beast of a machine. The Wilks TX850 packs enough punch to do serious damage if not handled carefully, but it will make your working life so much easier and far more efficient.
So, what’s it like? Whats it got?
20 metres of industrial grade hosing
Claimed to be the market leader in commercial pressure washers
Cleans as much as 75% quicker than smaller units
Has a jaw dropping 4800 Psi pressure!
Quick fit Brass connect coupler
Got all the usual extras you would expect from a top end machine
Seen enough now? This machine is more than the TX750 to buy, looking at around £595 roughly but when it comes to business, there is no comparison. Getting the best you can really DOES make all the difference. Get the work done so much faster, move on to the next one, be more productive and be more profitable as a result.
In the world of pressure washers, Hyundai or Honda are the premium grade pressure washers. With these names you can be assured that you get as much power as you would ever need and ultra reliability that goes a long long way.
This is the Hyundai HYW4000P. Not one to be missed if you’re serious about getting the best pressure washer for the money that will make you even more money.
Sure these aren’t anywhere near the same price bracket as others at a few hundred pounds. This Hyundai sits at around the £1000 mark, but what you get is something that is very versatile.
You can purchase additional hoses for this to take the 15 metre hose further. You can buy optional rotary cleaning attachments as well as roof cleaning telescopic lances to expand your options into an almost unlimited number of money making avenues.
This is the big daddy machine. The ones that others try to emulate.
How do we know it’s one of the best?
Well one way is to see for yourself by reading all of the Amazon reviews. At the time of writing every single review gave this machine a 5 out of 5.
Not too shabby.
This is a Honda engine powered pressure washer with good specs at a fair price in the region of £500
Features the Honda GX390 engine – a tried and tested workhorse powering many commercial pressure washers worldwide.
A good work horse that will ensure work keeps getting completed time and time again.
Comes with various nozzles and high quality lance, it also enjoys a tough metal construction and has anti vibration components to make the jobs more pleasing.
It also features a 4000Psi output for high end performance.
With two wheels you can take it anywhere, and with it’s petrol engine the world is your oyster.
Less downtime, more jobs completed in record time. What’s not to love?
Not sure if commercial is the way forward for you? Not an issue as we have also reviewed a number of home pressure washers where some have a surprising amount of power! You can check those out right here on my other blog post.
Interested in setting up as a car detailer? We have also looked at snow foam lances that work in conjunction with many of the popular home pressure washer brands. You can read my review on those here on my blog.
Do I really need to fork out up to a grand on a pressure washer?
That’s up to you. But from experience as someone who has in the past purchased machinery for a gardening round, cheaper models don’t last that long whereas the “best” stuff literally will last you several years of regular daily use.
Sure you might spend £500 to £1000, but how many jobs would it take to complete to recoup the money you’ve put in?
4 or 5 good cleaning jobs will have gotten your investment back in as little as a week depending on how busy you are.
Run a small advert on Facebook with good targeting and you can get those jobs coming in fast.
If you are after a top end pressure washer for your company for an employee to use, the investment is going to be repaid soon as well, as cleaning tasks will be completed faster, freeing them up for other tasks much sooner.
How much can you make with a pressure washing business?
Pressure washing is most certainly a business that can make you as much money as you’d like.
The simplest way in is to get a pressure washer that you can afford, advertise in the Facebook “buy and sell” groups, or drop some leaflets in your local area. Start doing the work and ask them for a review on your Facebook page.
You will get trickles of work right through the year like this, but with time and continued good reviews business will grow.
Eventually you should be able to have one person or yourself doing 1 or 2 washer jobs a day, and if you average £150 per job, this will be a £300 turnover. Take out the employees wages or your own and what’s left can go towards further advertising or profits or more wages.
As you grow, as an example with 6 employees turning over a minimum of £1000 a week each, this is a £6000 turnover, minus approx for £4000 for wages and other overheads, leaving a handsome £2000 a week profit which is over £100,000 a year.
With commercial cleaning, graffiti removal and other avenues you can charge higher rates for more specialized work.
In short the world is your oyster.
